Achievements of The College during 2010-2011
1. The college has received the “BEST COLLEGE AWARD” on 15th August 2010 from the University of Mumbai.

2. The college has secured three university ranks in T.Y.B.Sc. (Physics) examinations held in April 2010. University Ist Rank was bagged by Fakih Zulfa Asif ( 94.75%), II rank by Momin Ansa Bano Ab. Qayyum ( 89.75%) and III rank by Rais Sadiya Ejaz Shabana ( 89.12%).

3. In T.Y.B.A. (English Litterature) 3 Units examinations held in April 2010, Ms. Bardi Ayesha Irfan scored the highest marks and bagged “The Hughling Prize” and “Saraswati Advani Prize” of University of Mumbai.

4. The result of T.Y.B.A. was 96.15%. B.Sc. was 92.17%, B.Sc. IT was 78.37%, B.Com was 89.23%, M.A. English was 100%, M.A. Urdu was 100%, M.A. Sociology was 100%. M.Sc. Chemistry was 75%, M.Sc. Botany was 100% and M.Sc. Zoology was 100%.

5. From our college, 268 students got graduated in June / July 2010. Out of which 136 students secured I class and 45 students got post graduated out of which 07 students secured I class.

6. The college has started receiving UGC grants under various schemes. Library books and laboratory equipments have been added. 15 OBC students were benefitted by UGC Stipend (Rs. 500/- per month) 20 students were benefitted under equal opportunities scheme. From 2010-11 remedial classes for F.Y./S.Y./T.Y./B.A./B.Com. and B.Sc. had been arranged.

7. The college had its Surveilance Audit from the team of BIS for ISO Certification 9001:2008 by Mr. Sinhal as an external auditor in May 2011.

8. Prin. Kamala Balasubramanian worked actively as a member of the Senate of University of Mumbai, Member of Women Development Cell of University of Mumbai and also as a member of Extra Mural Studies of University of Mumbai. She got selected for the Senate in 2010-2011 for the second term for 5 years she has also been elected through the Senate to the Board of Adult and Continuation Education and Extension of University of Mumbai.

9.Dr. Nisar Shaikh (Dept. of Zoology) Dr. Tabassum Sheikh (Dept. of Philosophy) and Prof. Ayesha Fakih (Dept. of Islamic Studies) have been elected/nominated to the respective board of studies in the academic year 2010-2011 for a term of five years.

10 .Prof. Jayashree Thakre has been appointed as the Field Co-ordinator for the Department of Adult and Continuation and Extension of University of Mumbai. PROSPECTUS 2010-2011

11.Prof. Anis Choudhary has worked actively as Thane Dist. Co-ordinator for the NSS Unit appointed by the University of Mumbai. He is also the member of advisory committee of University of Mumbai and also a member of Magazine Committee of University of Mumbai. He received appreciation award by Biological Association, Bombay. He was also awarded the Best Consumer Services Award by the Consumer Protection Council of India and Kalyan Bhushan Award by the Giants Club of Kalyan.

12.Dr. Tabassum Sheikh presented papers at the Seminars/Conferences held in Mumbai University, Gujarat University and at Jhunjhunwala College, Mumbai. She was also subject expert in the selection committee.

13.Prof. Jayashree Thakre, Prof. Archana Gupte, Dr. Nahid Azam attended / presented papers in seminars / conferences at National /International level.

14.Prof. Ghazala Bhoje worked as a course writer for IDOL of University of Mumbai for T.Y.B.A. and F.Y.B.A. in the subject of Sociology.

15.Dr. Nisar Shaikh of Zoology Dept., Prof. Jayashree Thakre of Chemistry Dept., Prof. Archana Gupte of Botany Dept. completed their Refresher Course and Dr. Ritu Jain completed her Orientation Programme from the University of Mumbai.

16.Prof. Ayesha Fakih completed Refresher Course in Islamic Studies and Ghazala Bhoje completed her Orientation Programme at the Aligarh University.

17.Six minor research projects have been undertaken by the college in 2010-2011, Grant had been approved for all six projects by the University of Mumbai, Prof. Samina Sheikh (History), Prof. Jayashree Thakre (Chemistry), Prof. Archana Gupte (Botany), Prof. Ritu Jain (Botany), Dr. Nandita Singh (Zoology) and Prof. Tarannum Sheikh (Physics) are working on the minor research projects.

18.60 students of B.M.S. and B.Sc. IT were taken by the college for industrial visit at Banagalore and Mysore accompanied by the staff.

19.Khan Zahida Ab. Mannan of S.Y.B.A. bagged the first Prize for Intercollegiate Pot Decoration Competition held at Ratnam College, Bhandup.

20.Ansari Shamim Bano of T.Y.B.A. secured the consolation prize for Intercollegiate Mehendi competition held at Ratnam College, Bhandup.

21.Shaikh Taslima of T.Y.B.A. and Momin Safeera of S.Y.B.A. bagged the third prize for Intercollegiate Duet Singing Competition held at Ratnam College, Bhandup.

22.Shah Kinal of F.Y.B.M.S. bagged the first Prize for Intercollegiate Story Writing Competition held at G.M.Momin Womens College, Bhiwandi.

23.Shaikh Fahmida of F.Y.B.Sc. secured the second prize for Intercollegiate story writing competition held at G.M.Momin Womens College, Bhiwandi.

24.Momin Inbesat of S.Y.B.Sc. bagged the first prize at the Intercollegiate Flower Decoration Competiton held at P.D. Karkhanis College, Ambernath.

25.Momin Shamim Bano of S.Y.B.A. bagged the first prize at the Intercollegiate Mehendi Competition held at P.D. Karkhanis College, Ambernath.

26.Khan Zahida Ab. Mannan of S.Y.B.A. secured the first prize for Intercollegiate Pot Decoration Competiton held at P.D. Karkhanis Colege, Ambernath.

27.Patel Anusha of S.Y.B.Sc. bagged the second prize and Momin Shaheen Bano of T.Y.B.A. bagged the third prize at the Intercollagiate Best out of Waste Competiton held at P. D. Karkhanis College, Ambernath.

28.Momin Shabeena of S.Y.B.A. secured the second prize for Intercollegiate Mehendi Competition held at Kalsekar College, Mumbra.

29.Shah Kinal of F.Y.B.M.S. secured the second prize for Intercollegiate Debate Competition held at Kalsekar College, Mumbra.

30.Rais Samra of F.Y.B.M.S. bagged the third prize for Intercollegiate Elocution Competition held at Kalsekar College, Mumbra.

31.Kesharwani Neelam and Hirebasur Yashoda of S.Y.B.Com. bagged the third Prize for Intercollegiate Rangoli Competition held at Kalsekar College, Mumbra.

32.Our Students team of Adult and Continuation Education and Extension Unit won the first Prize in Competiton at ‘UDAAN’festival held at Birla College.

33.Sayyed Shahida of S.Y.B.Com. bagged the first prize at ‘UDAAN’ festival for Poster Competiton held at Birla College.

34 Azmi Summaya of T.Y.B.Sc. bagged the second prize at Intercollegiate Eureka Competition, organised by the Science Association, G. M. Momin Womens College, Bhiwandi.

35.Ansari Sayma of S.Y.B.Sc. IT secured the third prize at the Intercollegiate Eureka Competiton organised by the Science Association, G. M. Momin Womens College, Bhiwandi.

36.15 NSS volunteers participated in the district level workshop on personal hygiene at Pendarkar College, Dombivli.

37.Ansari Afaf of T.Y.B.Com. won the third prize at the Intercollegiate Poster Competition organised by the University of Mumbai.

38.Ansari Afreen and Momin Tuba participated for the 7 day district level residential camp at Shivle.

39.125 NSS volunteers attended the 7 day Residential Camp at Bordi.

40.Ansari Afaf of T.Y.B.Com, the N.S.S. volunteer worked as the co-ordinator for the “Traffic Ambassador Project” in Bhiwandi.

41.Azmi Sumayya of T.Y.B.Sc. and Khan Heena of S.Y.B.Sc. won the first prize at the Intercollegiate Quiz Competiton organised by Orchid Club ‘Angeiomenia’ at G.M. Momin Women’s College, Bhiwandi.

42.Khot Aqsa of S.Y.B.Sc. bagged the second prize at Intercollegiate Salad Carving Competiton organised by Orchid Club ‘Angiomenia’ at G.M.Momin Women’s College, Bhiwandi.

43.Bakali Atiya of F.Y.B.Sc. secured the first prize at the Intercollegiate Logo Competiton organised by Orchid Club ‘Angiomenia’ at G. M. Momin Women’s College, Bhiwandi.

44.Momin Sana of F.Y.B.Sc. secured the second prize at the Intercollegiate Logo Competiton organised by Orchid Club ‘Angiomenia’ at G. M. Momin Women’s College, Bhiwandi.
