History Of NSS

    NSS unit of our college was established in the year 1991 with 35 students with the following objectives:

    1. To provide community exposure to our NSS volunteers, develop sense of social and civic responsibilities.
    2. To create an awareness in the local slum areas and nearby community about many social issues.
    3. To generate leadership and capacity building in students.
    4. To practice communal harmony as Bhiwandi itself has diversified in religious belief.
    5. To implement green practices such as the use of public transport, bicycles, Plastic free campus, paperless office etc.
    6. To conduct outreach programmes.
    7. To sensitize students for social and cross cutting issues.
    8. To organize National festivals and Birth/Death Anniversaries of great Indian personalities
    9. To plan and organize appropriate activities to increase consciousness about national identities and symbols: Fundamental duties and right of Indian Citizens and other constitutional obligations.

    It was only 2 nd NSS unit of Women College of Mumbai University after Sophia College Mumbai.
    Our College was founded to accommodate female students of orthodox families to support women empowerment through education.
    During last 28 years, NSS has progressed to great heights; it is one of the largest NSS Unit of Mumbai University with 300 volunteers. We have hosted and organised as well as participated in many National and International events. Our students have participated in almost all levels of activities of NSS at National level. We had representation in SRD (State Republic day), Adventure camp; National Integration Camp and State level Disaster Management Camp – AVHAAN.
